“I first heard learned about Valerie Joyce when Kaku (the designer of the Sony AR speakers) and I visited David Chesky at his studio in 2007. David gave us a copy of Valerie's new recording and we were instantly captivated by her incredible voice. Then David  said, almost casually, “By the way...Valerie happens to be Japanese!”.

Unfortunately we didn’t get to meet her that day.  But this past April, we were participating at T.H.E. Show in New York City when David showed up in the Sony demo room with an unexpected guest -- it was Valerie!  She smiled and presented us with a copy of her recording on SA-CD and for the rest of the day, we played song after song from the album, which attracted quite a big audience.

After the show, I learned that Cookie Marenco at Blue Coast Records was planning to make a live recording in DSD during the California Audio Show and play it on our SS-AR1 speakers.  So I asked Valerie if she was interested in performing and immediately received an enthusiastic response!

It all came together, as if by magic!

And I am so happy to be a part of this fantastic project.

I personally am so excited to listen to the performance of Valerie in stunning DSD which allows to reproduce her amazing voice so faithfully.
